About Us
Our mission is to empower young bakers to turn their passion into purpose and educational opportunities.
As a 5th grader who bakes regularly at home, what began as a hobby grew into something bigger, an opportunity to create delicious treats for the Portland community while raising funds for Girls' Education in Rwanda.
That's why we founded Sweet Treats PDX, a youth-led social enterprise bringing scrumptious baked goods to Portland, made by kids, sold by kids and for our community. We operate June through September, giving young bakers a space where their passion becomes a real learning experience.
20% of every purchase supports Girls' Education Scholarships in Rwanda — and soon, in the Portland Metro Area.- Learn more

Supporting Girls Education
20% of every Sweet Treat contributes to scholarships for girls education in Rwanda through our 501c3 nonprofit, FuseChange.org.
We are currently focused on creating life-changing opportunities for girls in Rwanda who have excelled academically but face financial barriers continuing their education. While 78% of girls in Rwanda complete primary education, only 38% go on to complete secondary or higher education. This is largely due to financial constraints.
This program is designed to reverse this trend and invest in the future of Rwanda, one girl at a time. Each Scholarship provides six years of full support to help students transition from secondary school through graduation.
Scholarships are awarded to girls who:
Score among the top in national primary school exams
Demonstrate financial need
Are selected in partnership with local school leaders
